We are moving towards restoring a true national rail network that includes service to the much of the Greater Northwest. The Federal Railroad Administration's Long-Distance Service Study is recommending 15 routes to expand the nation's passenger rail system. Selected by the Long-Distance Service Study is the former Pioneer corridor, connecting Seattle, Portland, Boise, Salt Lake City, and Denver as recently as 1997.
